The history of the violin ensemble runs deep to Russia. Michael Miropolsky dreamed to continue this Russian tradition in America, and create the group similar to famous "Violins of the Bolshoi". First he tried it with the students of the Seattle Concervatory of Music, recording two miniatures on his CD "Best of Young Virtuosi".
The Seattle Violin Virtuosi was launched in early Spring of 1999 and consists of mostly Seattle Symphony musicians. Its inaugural concert at Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall at Benaroya Hall in Seattle was a great success and was accepted with admiration by critics and audience alike. Since then, the Seattle Violin Virtuosi presents a new program every year which usually consists of 15 - 18 miniatures.
